Tinubu's aide, Adeboye to chair Newstap/ SWAN 5-Star Award



As preparations  gathers momentum  for the second edition of the  Newstap/ SWAN 5-Star Award  scheduled for March 6th, organizers  have confirmed that the event will be Chaired by the Special Assistant  on Grassroots Sports Development  to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu  Prince Anthony Adeboye. 


A statement signed by the Chairman of the organizing Committee  Kunle Salami said " Due to the prestige, glamorous  level the Award has attained in just two years, we can confirm that the second edition of the Newstap/ SWAN 5-Star Award  scheduled  for March 6th at Eko Club,  Surulere, Lagos will be Chaired by the Senior Special  Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to  Mr President  Prince Anthony Adeboye. 

The caliber of those also being honoured attests to the credibility and integrity of the award. We are set for yet another great event which will be a marked improvement on previous edition."

He further stated that " We are honoring five eminent Nigerians  who have made immense  contributions  to sports development  to appreciate  their efforts,  spur them to do more and inspire more people to support Sports development."

Those to be honoured  during  the second edition of the prestigious award Include Bayelsa State  Governor Senator Douye Diri,  NIS DG/ CEO Rt. Honourable  Combrade Philip Shaibu,  MD/ CEO Nilayo Sports Management Company  Ltd Mrs. Yetunde Olopade,  Club  owner Chief Robert Onyeani and Internationally acclaimed boxing promoter Honourable Omonlei Yakubu Imadu. 

Last year's  event was chaired by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission Malam Shehu Dikko. 
Winners of the maiden Edition included Governor of Benue State Rev Father Hyinth Alia,  Business man and philanthropist Honourable Kunle Soname,  Benue State Football Association Chairman Barrister Paul Edeh , GTI Managing Director Mr Abubakar Lawal and Mr Ebi Egbe, MD Monimichelle  Construction  Company.
