Oyo State Football Association Declares Total Support for Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau's Second Term Bid



The Oyo State Football Association under the able leadership of Oba Alakinleye of Akinleye, HRM Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran has hereby expressed its unwavering and total support for the re-election bid of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, for a second term in office.


According to the release made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital,  FA Boss noted that the Zamfara born football administrator has demonstrated exceptional leadership  through transparency and integrity which changed the perception of football status in Nigeria. 

"Since assuming office, Alhaji Gusau has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to the development of football across Nigeria. His administration has brought stability, transparency, and renewed confidence to the game at all levels, while fostering greater inclusion and opportunities for football stakeholders nationwide.

The Oyo State Football Association acknowledges the remarkable progress recorded in Nigeria Premier Football League which returns Shooting Stars Sports Club, 3SC to the continrnt after 27 years . This feat was achieved under your stewardship and firmly believes that granting you a second term will ensure the consolidation of ongoing reforms and the continued advancement of Nigerian football.

"We therefore call on all football stakeholders across the country to support Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau's second term bid in the interest of continuity, progress, and the overall growth of football in Nigeria.

Three referees in Nigeria have been sanctioned for offences related to  improper handling of matches assigned to them.  In week 8 matches of the NPFL, three of the referees who handled two different matches have been suspended indefinitely by the NFF Referees Committee.  While Mohammed B Tuta of Adamawa and Benue's Ben Japhet, Referee and Assistant Referee 1, respectively of the Kano Pillars vs Shooting Stars game were punished for what the NFF Referees Committee accused them of "acting in manners outside the provisions of the laws of the game and brings the game into disrepute", the letter signed by the  Committee secretary, Ameenu Mohammed indicated that the Nassarawa against Rangers referee, Ikechukwu Taiwo of Rivers State was sanctioned for awarding "unjustified penalty" awarded. The two time CAF Champions League holders defeated their visitors 2-0 but it appeared that the result did not go down well with the Sporting Director due to the fact that the coach did not yield to his substitution directives during the first half of the match. Monday Odigie is Yet to Sign official Contract with Bayelsa United But...

While a source disclosed that the Edo born gaffer departed the club after losing back to back games against Niger Tornadoes and Enyimba FC of Aba, another source hinted that what the club offered fell below par and he got pissed off.
