Pro- Wrestling Africa Elect New Executives .. As newly elected President promises new dawn for the sports



Pro- Wrestling Africa, ( PWA), the body charged with developing professional wrestling in all the nooks and crannies of the continent has elected new executives to run the affairs of the association for the next four years.


The election organized on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at the Conference  Hall of the National Institute For Sports( NIS), National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos on May, 2nd, 2026 was held shortly after a successful Annual General Meeting held to take stock of the activities of the body.

Prior to the election, the outgoing President, Botswanian Dr. Sharp
Moabi, whose two term tenure ended on February 10, 2026, declined to go for a third term, having relocated to the United States.
The electoral committee initially received five applications from Cameroon, Benin Republic, South Africa, Egypt, and Togo, but after scree no ing, the committee recommended only candidates from Cameroon and Benin Republic to participate in the election for the post of president.

In the election, that followed, Commodore Emmanuel Ndo of Cameroon emerged as the new president while Mayor Mayor Sourou Germain Wanvoegbe of Benin Republic was elected 1st Vice President  just as the position of the 2nd Vice 
President, went to Mohamed Amadel of Morocco  with Nigerians Olusesan Olukoya, retaining his position as Secretary General.

The position of Assistant Secretary General was won by Naa Christiana Merley Ashley  of Ghana, with 
Ali Orou Sourou Abdel-Aziz of  Benin Republic elected as Social Director 1 

Also elected are ; Bing Ifefo  of Democratic Republic of Congo as Social Director 2, Habib 
Adams of Togo as Finance Director, Belgium based, 
Simba Bafuka Shaolin Master, emerged as Technical Director 1. Augustine Okafor a k.a .r. Sharp Man of Nigeria  will serve as Technical Director 2.

The post of Public Relations Officer,  was won by Ameku Philip Elikem of Ghana, just as a veteran journalist 
Ifeanyi Eduzor of Nigeria emerged as the Media Director.
Prior to the election, the statutes of the African Wrestling Confederation were read aloud, after which, each candidate was told to present their past achievements and future aspirations.
In his acceptance speech, Commodore Ndo thanked all the delegates for conducting themselves well throughout the election.
He promised that his target will be to ensure that the mats man game is further developed in the continent to be at par with what is happening in wrestling in Europe and America.
" I want to commend the Local Organizing Committee and all those involved in making sure that this election was free and fair.
" I equally want to appreciate all those that voted for me and to assure them that they never made any mistake chosing me as the leader of this great body.

" What I can assure wrestling fans is that, my tenure will usher in  a new beginning for African wrestling. I and members of my executive will work harmoniously as a team to ensure the sport is taken to a higher pedestal.

Delegates from 20 African countries participated in the Annual General Meeting and the election

Three referees in Nigeria have been sanctioned for offences related to  improper handling of matches assigned to them.  In week 8 matches of the NPFL, three of the referees who handled two different matches have been suspended indefinitely by the NFF Referees Committee.  While Mohammed B Tuta of Adamawa and Benue's Ben Japhet, Referee and Assistant Referee 1, respectively of the Kano Pillars vs Shooting Stars game were punished for what the NFF Referees Committee accused them of "acting in manners outside the provisions of the laws of the game and brings the game into disrepute", the letter signed by the  Committee secretary, Ameenu Mohammed indicated that the Nassarawa against Rangers referee, Ikechukwu Taiwo of Rivers State was sanctioned for awarding "unjustified penalty" awarded. The three referees were suspended indefinitely.

Dehumanization of Cameroonian Coach, Emmanuel Deutsche by Daniel Eke: A Call for Full Scale Investigation and Justice

By: Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR) It was a show of shame and animalistic behaviour at the Aba Township Stadium on Sunday in a match Day 30 of Nigeria Premier Football League between Enyimba Football Club and Plateau United as Sporting Director of People's Elephants, Daniel Eke allegedly  battered the face of the club's Head Coach, Emmanuel Deutsche. The two time CAF Champions League holders defeated their visitors 2-0 but it appeared that the result did not go down well with the Sporting Director due to the fact that the coach did not yield to his substitution directives during the first half of the match. At the first half, our correspondent scooped that the Sporting Director at the end of the first half pushed the coach and followed him inside the dressing room and then punched him. Monday Odigie is Yet to Sign official Contract with Bayelsa United But...

By: Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR) Former Bendel Insurance head coach, Monday Odigie, has not signed a dotted line with Bayelsa United therefore, he has no contractual poweŕ to resign as it's being rumoured.  Odigie who was reported to have hit the ground running immediately after he was called to thinker the Prosperity Boys anticipated a much accelerated contractual deal but the bureaucratic bottleneck from the Management to the Governor led to the slow pace of action in finalising the deal . While a source disclosed that the Edo born gaffer departed the club after losing back to back games against Niger Tornadoes and Enyimba FC of Aba, another source hinted that what the club offered fell below par and he got pissed off. According to an insider, "What people don’t know is that he has not been officially signed to be our coach. A deal hasn’t  been agreed with the club. The Commissioner who was supposed to present him to the Deputy Governor has been busy traveling....
