Ambassador Kemi.Ogunfuwa Sends Birthday Bash To Mutiu Adepoju at 55th Birthday



The former National President of the defunct Football Fans Club of Nigeria,FFCN has felicitated with the former Super Eagles attacking Midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju as he celebrates his 55th birthday


This was contained in a release signed by the National President of the defunct leading Supporters' Club in Nigeria, *Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa* and made available to newsmen through the National Media Officer, *Sunday Agunbiade*  where Ogunfuwa describes the former Real Madrid B forward as a rare genius and a pride of the African football

"On behalf of the entire members of Football Fans Club of Nigeria, we are delighted to rejoice with the erstwhile Super Eagles Midfielder, the legendary Mutiu Adepoju on the occasion of his 55th birthday celebration."

"The Headmaster as fondly called is a pride not only for Nigeria but the entire Africa. I think with every sense of humility his heroic deeds at World Cups right from under age categories to the senior National team particularly his goal against Spain in France 98 where Nigeria defeated the star studded Spanish National team by 3-2 is an archival goal in Fifa history. 

Also, his rare talents scoring many difficult goals for Nigeria and clubsides in Europe through header is a testament that the Ibadan born legend is a brand and a rare celebrity in the entire continent. The soft spoken football administrator  enthusiastically submitted

Adepoju started with Femo Scorpions in 1986–1987 before he pitched his tent with Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan in the year 1989 and after a season, he penned down a deal with defunct Julius Berger of Lagos spending three seasons from 1989–1992. His pot of call in Europe is Real Madrid B and he later joined Racing Santander before moving to Real Sociedad. Much later, 
Al-Ittihad, Salamanca Samsumspor ,AEL Limassol,Eldense hosted him before he called it quit.

The Laliga Ambassador, Adepoju spent most of his career in Spain, amassing La Liga totals of 175 games and 22 goals over the course of seven seasons and representing mainly Racing de Santander and Real Sociedad.

A Nigeria international for 12 years, Adepoju appeared for the country in three World Cups and as many Africa Cup of Nations.

Alleged Poor Officiating; Kano Pillars/3SC Match Officials Suspended, Nasarawa/Rangers Referee

Three referees in Nigeria have been sanctioned for offences related to  improper handling of matches assigned to them.  In week 8 matches of the NPFL, three of the referees who handled two different matches have been suspended indefinitely by the NFF Referees Committee.  While Mohammed B Tuta of Adamawa and Benue's Ben Japhet, Referee and Assistant Referee 1, respectively of the Kano Pillars vs Shooting Stars game were punished for what the NFF Referees Committee accused them of "acting in manners outside the provisions of the laws of the game and brings the game into disrepute", the letter signed by the  Committee secretary, Ameenu Mohammed indicated that the Nassarawa against Rangers referee, Ikechukwu Taiwo of Rivers State was sanctioned for awarding "unjustified penalty" awarded. The three referees were suspended indefinitely.

Shooting Stars unveil new signings, departed players

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, have confirmed the signing of eight fresh legs to beef up their squad for the second  round of the 2024/25 NPFL season.  A statement issued by the Media Officer of the club, Tosin Omojola, revelaed that the players were signed from both the NPFL and NNL sides.  Some of the new acquisions mentioned include, Sadiq Ibrahim, a sriker from Sunshine Stars,  Omoduemuke Moses, striker from Niger Tornadoes as well as midfielder Okorie Ekeson from Rangers International.  Others are midfielders Ukeme Williams from Miyansar Sport FC, Iraq, and Ephraim Nwachukwu from Osun United.  Meanwhile, the club also announced the drafting of upcoming player, Liuz David, a young professional player into the main team.  In the same vein, the club also announced the departure of eight players namely; Abubakar Aliu, Abbey Benson, Elum Henry, Hassane Sidibe, Bolaji Sakin,Uche Onwuasonanya, Fasanmi Olaniyi and Malachi Ohawume....
