"Nigerian players Flying High in UAE" ... Elumelu

The former Board Member of Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee,
Barrister Austel Elumelu has hailed the performance of Nigeria football players plying trade in united Arab Emirates. 


Speaking to our correspondence over the weekend from  United Arab Emirates where the erudite football administrator is having holiday, he said he was excited to watch Nigerian players exhibit high level of football great artistry at Al-hamariya stadium.It was a match involving Sporting FC vs Gulf United FC " popularly known as ™ The Eagles '(B team) which ended goalless. 


" The match was explosive,the intensity was high, Gulf United  FC popularly known as ' The Eagles 'featured Six Nigerian players in that league match. They are: Azibagiri Anam,Miracle Nwoagu, Falade Opeyemi Olayemi,Daniel Odumu Sunday,Ibrahim Ashiru Shuaibu, Taofiq Gabriel Yekini.
They were all outstanding

In a related development, Sporting Director, Gulf United Football Club, UAE Division one club side,Mr Mohammed Jarred has described Nigeria as a hub of football talents.

 Jarred said this when he received the Former member of NFF Technical Committee, Barrister Elumelu in the club house in Dubai. 

He said: "I have been to Nigeria two times for football talent showcase and I can tell you that they have amazing players who can rule the world if well managed.

Also speaking during the visit is the head scout  and assistant coach of Gulf United football club Dubai, Marcello Anyanwu, he described Gulf united football club as a football institute that grooms nurtures players and create pathways for them. In his remarks:

"We started this journey in 2021 and we have won UAE Division 3 and division 2 league back to back and we got promoted to UAE Division one. This is unprecedented and it's through hard work and commitment by the entire team."

He added: "As of today, we have first team in  & B team in the UAE  league and they are both doing amazingly well."

Elumelu then thanked the sporting Director for the warm reception he accorded him , he was optimistic that one day  Gulf United FC will play friendly match with any of the Nigerian national team. He concluded.
