SWAN Congratulates Gusau On Emergence As WAFU B 1st Vice President





The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has congratulated the President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, on his emergence as the 1st Vice President of West African Football Union (WAFU) B zone.


In a congratulation letter dated November 23, 2024 and conveyed through the Association's Secretary-General, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, SWAN President, Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, paid glowing tribute to Alhaji Gusau who he described as an experienced football administrator with track record of excellence.

While expressing optimistism in the ability of the new WAFU B number two man to contribute meaningfully in repositioning football in the sub-region, the President of SWAN assured of Nigeria's Sporting Media support to enable him succeed.

Part of the letter reads, "Your latest attainment is a clear testimony of your visionary and dedication to the Grassroots and Elite Development of football over the years in Nigeria.

"No doubt, you have been and remained pragmatic in your leadership approach.

"Therefore, the teeming Nigerian Sporting Media are optimistic that you will deplore your experience and high level ability in your new role at WAFU.

"You are sure destined for greater exploits in the nearest future.

 The election for the new WAFU B leadership took place in Niamey, Niger Republic on Friday.
