The management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), has expressed appreciation to the teeming supporters and fans of the club for coming out in large numbers to cheer up the team in Sunday's game against Enyimba FC of Aba.
Executive Chairman of the club, Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan Akoro, expressed deep appreciation to the team's backers for the tremendous support given the team in Sunday's Matchday six tie against the Peoples' Elephants which ended goalless.
"Let me use this medium to thank all our fans and supporters for the support the team got before, during and after the game against Enyimba. Despite the result, they still cheered the players, which was indeed heartwarming.
"At the same time, I want to beg them over our inability to secure the maximum points, which was due largely to our wastefulness in front of goal", said the former Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly.
He however, appealed for more patience, assuring that the team will do everything humanly possible to change the tide positively.
In the same vein, the General Manager of the club, Dimeji Lawal, described the attendance and conduct of the fans in Sunday's game as encouraging.
"I must say that we had an encouraging atmosphere on Sunday, unfortunately, we couldn't get the desired result despite the efforts of the players.
"We know our problem is in the attack and I know how much efforts the coaches are putting in to get it right. We will continue to work on this department and I can assure you that soon, we will start getting the result", stated Kabongo, as the ex international is fondly called.
