Kano Pillars eye Deji Ayeni as New Technical Adviser

There are growing speculations in the camp of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants, Kano Pillars to announce the appointment of former Akwa United handler, Deji Ayeni as new Technical Adviser.

The source close to Sai Masu gida reveals that Abdul Maikaba, who served as the Technical Adviser at the start of the season was suspended indefinitely after a spit of disagreement with the management of the club.

Apart from the committee that was set up to look into Maikaba’s activities, former players, Jangora Ahmed and Ahmed Yaro Yaro Garba were assigned to oversee Kano Pillars’ remaining fixtures in the league while a new manager will be announced anytime from now

At the end of the 2023/2024 season, Kano Pillars finished in a distant 11th on the log having won 15, drawn seven and lost 15 out of 38 matches, a result that leaves much to be desired

The management of the club then declared the position once occupied by Makaba vacant and invited applications from suitable candidates to fill the vacant position.

One of the top club brass hinted Varsportnow.blogspot.com that that the committee that was set up to investigate the former coach would submit its report on Thursday and very important announcements would be made on the same day.

According to him: “ The government of the state had set up a committee to look into the tenure of the former coach and the report is expected to be submitted on Thursday. This will inform the management to take drastic decision ahead of the next season. Then, the management will hold a world press conference afterwards. We are looking for a new Technical Adviser and Deji Ayeni who grew up in the ancient city of Kano and played for several clubs is one of the coaches that tick the available boxes having emerged Coach of the month in Nigeria topflight league.

Being a young and exciting coach, former Sunshine Stars, Akwa and Ekiti United, Deji Ayeni and his Manager, Akin Maxwell are already on their way to Kano for final discussion on the possibility of emerging the new Sai Masu gida handler.
