It May Be Difficult to have clubs with good structure like Sporting Lagos in NPFL ... Biffo
By: Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR)
Enthused by clean bill of health recorded in the Nigeria National League last season and crowned it with Super 8 glory, Sporting Lagos is one of the few private clubs that have structures that may be very difficult for others teams to replicate in the NPFL
Head coach of the Lagos outfit, Usman Abdullahi Biffo stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Ibadan shortly after his team failed to sustain the Premier league status losing 1-0 to Shooting Stars Football Club on Sunday during a Match Day 38 of Nigeria Premier Football League fixtures.
According to the former Kwara and Katsina United handler, he said the Nigeria topflight league will miss Sporting Lagos due to its professional football structure put in place and clean football business the club is known for. Biffo added that the experience is worthwhile and a propeler for the Lagos based Football outfit to come back better.
In his words: We are one of the few private clubs in Nigeria that build its team on young and exciting players. This club is a true definition of a professional Club. The league will surely miss the quality structure of Sporting Lagos.
“The quality structure put in place by Sporting Lagos will be missed by the NPFL. It is the kind of structure we need to build our league and I don’t want to talk about what happened behind the scenes . What I know very well is that the team has a great structure and we take courage in that. This is our first time in the Premier league it will be a big lesson for all of us at the club . He noted.
This team will surely come back better and bigger. I know if the team is able to come together and get it right in the future, they will make their mark.
“If there is another time to come together and see how to amend all the errors and all the departments can get it right so that the team can be able withstand the pressure of the Nigeria league, it is a good experience for the team and I know that we have learnt our lesson and the team will be better in the future.
Coach Biffo concluded.
