NLO24 ,SHAGAMU CENTRE: NFF, NRA, OGUN STATE FA CALLED TO MONITOR REFEES ACTIVITIES TOMORROW


A call has been made to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, leadership of the Nigeria Referee Association ably led by Alhaji Sanni Zubair, and Chairman, Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi and other stakeholders to pay a keen attention to Ebedei Stadium, Shagamu Ogun State tomorrow, Monday 6th May, 2024 on the final day fixtures of the ongoing Nationwide league one final


One of the coaches who felt disappointed with the poor handling of his game posted this in one of the leading WhatsApp groups: He said:

"My amiable colleague , the Coach of Custom FC, when I was protesting for our second goal that was disallowed, you were talking about the penalty that was awarded to us. I am a Coach that do not want an undeserved advantage. When the referee gave the penalty, I quickly went back to my assistants and told them that the penalty was not a deserving one as it appeared very cheap. "

"I don't support a wrong decision even if it favors me like today. That is my kind of person. My protest is that before your goal went in, there was a foul on our player but maybe the referee didn't see. Secondly our second and third goals were good goals that were not supposed to be disallowed if you are to be very honest most especially the second goal. How come the referee will disallow two clean goals just to favour the home team. I have never seen where  a host team would be allowed to host this kind of competition in its own Stadium".

"NLO here in Shagamu has been very frustrating as Referees appear to be working in favour of the host team. When you see this kind of judgement by people that are supposed to be fair and be neutral to both teams. It is painful to we the coaches after you see your team played so well and couldn't go home with what they deserved honestly it is very painful.". The coach lamented. 

Following the series of complaints from different coaches on members of Ogun State Referee Council, it's pertinent for the stakeholders to beam its searchlights on.the final day fixtures billed to hold tomorrow at Ebedei Stadium, Shagamu, Ogun State.
