I have no interest in NFF GS... Elegbeleye

Following some media speculations making the round that the Chairman of Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye is lobbying for the post of General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, the Second Vice President of the nation's Football Governing Body has denied it , describing it as imagination of the writer.



Speaking aginst the backdrop of the baseless news through phone call on Tuesday particularly as the story was extensively debated in one of the leading WhatsApp groups in Nigeria, Sports World Platform, the former Director General, National Sports Commission said he never made any attempt to occupy such position. 

According to the alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University, he unequivocally challenged the purveyors of the baseless and unfounded story to substantiste it with documentary representation or they find another job doing . The Ondo State born Football administrator however expressed his resolve to use his expertise to take the apex League, NPFL to the next level. Responding via phone call, he said:

"I have never made or declared any expression of interest to occupy the position of the General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation. I think those who made the allegations may have woken up from other sides of the bed and it's a well known aphorism that lesser beings are always intimidated. "



"My great brother. Some people just woke up from the wrong side of the bed and came up with what topic to write about Gbenga Elegbeleye. Now I'm their regular news item, Elegbeleye this , Elegbeleye that. Bros, I'm not interested in NFF GS and will never be interested, but do I need to respond to every thrash?.... Definitely NO. My utmost concern is the NPFL and we are poised to take it to the next level.Please let them enjoy their cruise." He emphatically submitted.
