Former member of house of Rep,Honourable Olusegun Odebunmi has given a thumb up to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluwaseyi Makinde for his vision in developing the youths in the state, particularly in Ogbomosho land
The Sports enthusiast stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Ibadan shortly after Crown FC defeated their Lagos based counterparts, Tradesafe FC 1-0 in Ibadan. He posited that the Governor has touched every zone in the area of sports facilities in the entire state
The soft spoken administrator was on visit in Ibadan to give moral support to all the teams representing Ogbomosho in all tiers of leagues adding that he put a a structure for sports to thrive when he was a local government Chairman. :I formed a club and hired a coach to handle it to ensure football thrive in my local government but I am not sure if such still exists after my tenure" . He lamented.
"I am here to support all our teams participating in one league or the other. When I was a Chairman, I evolved a structure that would make Sports develop in my local government. I established a coach and hired a coach to handle it. I consolidated on Sports Development in Ogbomosho when I became a member of House of Representative. Thus, I am part and parcel of sports business as I see it as a catalyst to developing our youths."
"Kudos to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde for his all round infrastructures drive he put in place for the Sports to develop. "
On the hiring of Super Eagles Coach, the erudite politician solicited for home grown coach and advised that he must be someone who knows the terrain and requisite qualifications. According to Bonvic,
"Well, may I use this medium to lend my voice to this debate. I think we have quality coaches who have requisite qualifications to handle Super Eagles. It's time we give them the desired respect to handle our national teams, particularly, the Senior national team. Whoever they deem qualified for the job should be given total support as such an home grown coach must have been familiar with the terrain ". He concluded
