NLO 1 UPDATES: 8 TEAMS, 28 MATCHES IN SHAGAMU AS 𝖡𝖤𝖲𝖳 𝖳𝖠𝖫𝖤𝖭𝖳 𝖥𝖢 𝖥𝖨𝖷𝖳𝖴𝖱𝖤𝖲 REVEALED

Survival of the fittest will be in the mouths of football loving Nigerians as 8 teams will run 7 days riots in Shagamu Centre for the forthcoming Nationwide League billed to commence on Monday, 22nd April, 2024. 


One of the high flying teams for this group is *Best Talent Football Club* of Mowe, Ogun State . As total number of 28 matches will go down in Shagamu, Best Talent is sets to open its account for 2024 Nationwide League 1 against Olumo United on Monday 22nd April, 2024 by 10am. 

It would be recalled that the Bronze winning team in the just concluded Preseason tournament organized by Oyo FA was a delight to watch in Ibadan . The ball distribution, sexy and mesmerizing football displayed by the former Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars, Coach Yinka Popoola popularly Gullit endeared the teeming fans in Oyo state. 


The team Director, Mr Adeyinka Adeyemo has put all machinery in motion to ensure that the club has a hitch free participation in 2024 Nationwide League. In his words: " We have prepared this team physically, mentally and psychologically ready for the forthcoming Nationwide League . In fact, we are one of the early birds that completed medicals . It is part of the registration protocols for the participating teams in NLO.

Our Coaching crew ably led by Coach Yinka Popoola Gullit is an experienced tactician who knows what it takes to get things done and we believe he will put his experience to bear with these lads when the season commences. We are anxiously anticipating the competition and we believe our fans and spectators alike will watch good football from Best Talent FC.

Alleged Poor Officiating; Kano Pillars/3SC Match Officials Suspended, Nasarawa/Rangers Referee

Three referees in Nigeria have been sanctioned for offences related to  improper handling of matches assigned to them.  In week 8 matches of the NPFL, three of the referees who handled two different matches have been suspended indefinitely by the NFF Referees Committee.  While Mohammed B Tuta of Adamawa and Benue's Ben Japhet, Referee and Assistant Referee 1, respectively of the Kano Pillars vs Shooting Stars game were punished for what the NFF Referees Committee accused them of "acting in manners outside the provisions of the laws of the game and brings the game into disrepute", the letter signed by the  Committee secretary, Ameenu Mohammed indicated that the Nassarawa against Rangers referee, Ikechukwu Taiwo of Rivers State was sanctioned for awarding "unjustified penalty" awarded. The three referees were suspended indefinitely.

Shooting Stars unveil new signings, departed players

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, have confirmed the signing of eight fresh legs to beef up their squad for the second  round of the 2024/25 NPFL season.  A statement issued by the Media Officer of the club, Tosin Omojola, revelaed that the players were signed from both the NPFL and NNL sides.  Some of the new acquisions mentioned include, Sadiq Ibrahim, a sriker from Sunshine Stars,  Omoduemuke Moses, striker from Niger Tornadoes as well as midfielder Okorie Ekeson from Rangers International.  Others are midfielders Ukeme Williams from Miyansar Sport FC, Iraq, and Ephraim Nwachukwu from Osun United.  Meanwhile, the club also announced the drafting of upcoming player, Liuz David, a young professional player into the main team.  In the same vein, the club also announced the departure of eight players namely; Abubakar Aliu, Abbey Benson, Elum Henry, Hassane Sidibe, Bolaji Sakin,Uche Onwuasonanya, Fasanmi Olaniyi and Malachi Ohawume....
