FFCN Boss, Kemi Ogunfuwa Congratulates Sports Minister, Gusau, Falcons Over Olympics Ticket
... 16 Years Jinx Shatterd in their tenure
National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa has congratulated the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and the Nigeria senior Women's national team, Super Falcons over their qualification into the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Mama Nigeria, as Ogunfuwa is fondly called spoke through the National Media Officer of the group, Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR), on Tuesday from her base in Lagos shortly after the 9th time African champions played a goalless draw against Bayana Bayana in Pretoria, after winning the first leg 1-0 in Abuja . She said the Olympics Ticket was a reward for hard work and dedication to nation's Football. According to the multiple award winning Matriarch, she said:
"I am extremely delighted to witness this wonderful experience today as Super Falcons taking a pound of flesh against their arch rival, Bayana Bayana of South Africa snatching Olympics tickets after 16 years of Olympics hiatus".
" On behalf of the entire members and executives of Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, I heartily rejoice with the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh who during his tenure returns Super Falcons to Olympics Football, so also the President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau who ensured the policy of the Federal Government came to reality and of course the Super Falcons of Nigeria for winning the Olympics ticket after 16 years" .
"You have once again given Football loving Nigerians opportunities to watch their girls in the forthcoming Olympics in Paris 16 years after .We love you and cherish this feat"
"Also, I want to specially thank Coach Andy Waldrum for the significant impact he has made with the team . The records have it that the team did not lose its guards throughout the qualifying series particularly as he maintained the superlative records against the African Champions in their own yard.
It would be recalled that the US based coach made the Falcons the world beaters during last year's world cup save for the penalty loss against the eventual finalist ,England and we thank God the NFF brought him back to continue his good job. The soft spoken and immediate past Member of Lagos State Women Football Committee said:
"Thank God the NFF brought Randy Waldrum back to the team to continue his good work from where he stopped after the world cup. We appreciate the NFF under the able watch of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau and his entire board for listening to Nigerians." .The alumnus of University of Lagos concluded
