2023 AFCON Final: "Don't Waste Chances Against Ivory Coast"... Swiss Based Coach Adedeji Adeyemi Warns Super Eagles

By; Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR)

Ahead of today's epic clash between Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire and Super Eagles of Nigeria in the final of the 34th edition of African Cup of Nations, the popular Swiss based coach Adedeji Adeyemi Anthony has predicted a different tactical approach from the Ivorians that might be difficult for Nigeria to bear.

The former Stationery Stores forward stated this while fielding questions in a radio show on Saturday evening, the pundit turns coach said the Ivorian coach Emerse Fae has adopted different tactics  that appeared so difficult for the opponents to control after their distrastrous loss to Equitoria Guinea.

According to him, he said:

"Super Eagles must not be too complacent today as they did in the group stage. They must not allow Ivorians to dominate the pace of the game as they did at the earlier stage. The lackadaisical approach put much pressure on the defense and thus made the hosts dominated the larger part of the proceedings. They oach Fae that I know changes tactics based on the complexions of the game. He used 4;3:3 against Congo and later switched to 4:2:3:1 against Mali and later 4: 4::1:1 against Senegal. Most of his midfielders could be quickly deployed to the attack"

"My points basically is that Super Eagles must not be missing chances if they really want to win. They missed couple of chances in the previous matches which may not be too for the aspirations in the final. I think they should comport themselves when they are at goal mouth"

The FC Witikon Head Coach reiterated that the Super Eagles stand a better chance to lift the title due to the calibre of players they have in their fold but they must bury their chances." I think Nigeria has a better chance against Ivorians due to the fact that Super Eagles players have more experience and more coordinating in the defense." He concluded.

The much anticipated final between Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire and Super Eagles of Nigeria comes up today by 9pm (Nigerian time). South Africa defeated DR Congo 6-5 via penalty Shoot outs
