Ivory Coast/Nigeria Clash: Okocha ,Ambode Tips Nigeria for Victory

Former Super Eagles player, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode have predicted that the Nigeria will be victorious in one of the preliminary games of 2023 African cup of Nations coming up later today


Both personalities stated this on Wednesday when they paid a courtesy visit to the team's camp ahead of today's crunch encounter. 

Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder trojan said that the present Super Eagles team has what it takes to defeat Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire and posited that they will lead group A when they face Guinea Bissau in the last preliminary game .

 On his part, one of the delegates of the Federal Government to the 34th edition of African Cup of Nations, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode was of the view that the game is going to be tough but the Eagles will humble Elephants in their own backyard.

"I think the present Super Eagles players have what it takes to neutralize the Elephants come tomorrow. They are all playing in big teams and nothing will shake them from leading the group A at the end of the preliminary stage. The same sentiment was shared by the former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode who said : "Nigeria should expect a tough game the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire but Nigeria will come victorious".


In the meantime, the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has further charged the players to raise their game against Ivory Coast today because reiterating that they are representing over 200 million Nigerians and they cannot afford to fail.


The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire will square it up against Super Eagles of Nigeria in second game of Group A fixtures later today by 6pm (Nigerian time)
