By: Sunday Agunbiade (Mr VAR)
One of the leading Nigerian born European based Coaches, Adedeji Adeyemi Anthony has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Minister of Sports, Senator John Owan Enoh, the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Chairman, Nigeria Premier Football League, Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye and the coaching crew of Nigeria's senior national team, over 2-0 victory against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon yesterday in the round of sixteen fixture of the ongoing African cup of Nations.
The Head Coach of FC Witikon, Switzerland pointed out that the reason why Super Eagles caged the Indomitable Lions was that their offensive pattern was too much for the five times African champions to curtail.
The UEFA B licensed tactician stated this while speaking from his base with Brila FM on Sunday. He noted that the Eagles still need more intent, grit and possessive Football display to sustain their winning streak
"First and foremost, I want to congratulate all patriotic Nigerians who stood firmly in supporting the team, also, the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sports Minister, Senator John Owan Enoh, the President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the league Board Chairman , Honourable Gbenga Elegbeleye and of course the entire coaching crew on the resounding victory recorded over Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. I think today, we, all saw a different Super Eagles who played attacking football compared to their rigid defensive set up. I also saw Osimhen who fought gallantly for the nation and put his life at stake to ensure Nigeria came victorious against our arch rival. However, we seem to lack creativity in the midfield simply because Nigeria has the natural on their list but what I love about the team is that there's always urgency to attack whenever we have the ball which gave us the edge over Cameronians"
On Nwabali's injury, the former Stationery Stores forward was of the mind that Nigerians should support whoever comes between the stick as injury is part of Football that is why you must invite your best legs to the tournament. "I hope Nwabili's injury is not a serious one as he has restored confidence to the backline and of course the entire team. If he could not feature in the next game, I want to sincerely appeal to all Nigerians to give Uzoho maximum support. He has lost his shirt to Nwabili and it might affect his mindset but this is the time to support him as the team are becoming stronger and stronger everyday. I see the Eagles flying over their opponents if they remain resolute and ready to fight . African football is a combination of skills and physical ability. The young gaffer submitted
