Insights into Her Honour, the Head of Service, Chief Mrs Olubunmi Olufunke Oni

Ahead of Thanksgiving ceremony of Her Honour, the Head of Service, Chief Mrs Olubunmi Olufunke Oni scheduled to take place today, 10th December, 2023, here are the blistering history of the number one Civil Servant in Modern day Oyo State. 



Chief Mrs Olubunmi Oni.  mni was born on May 31, 1966, to the family of Late Chief Joshua Adedeji and Late Chief (Mrs) Rachael Jolade Ogunkeyede. 

Her Honour married with lovely children to Engr. Taiwo Alani Oni.

She joined the Oyo State Civil Service as an Information Officer II in 1992 and rose through the ranks to become a Director in 2013 and a Coordinating Director in 2017.

The Civil Servant supremo holds double masters in Political Science/Public Administration from the University of Ibadan and Public Administration from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. Though  she attended Wesley College Practicing Schools, Elekuro, Ibadan, Remo Secondary School between 1976 and 1979 and Olive Baptist High School, Oyo


Her Honour , the Head of Service has served as Secretary and Chairman of various Committees within the Civil Service and she is a member of the Senior and Management Staff Committee for Promotion, Discipline and other Personnel Matters. She was one time the Chairperson,  Forum of Administrative Officers of Oyo State .

She has also attended several local and international training programmes where she performed excellently well.

In all the MDAs she had privileged to serve, Her Honour leaves an indelible mark with positive impacts in the life of her colleagues, subordinates and Political appointees as they almost found it difficult to let her go. 

Her unique and sterling virtues make her appointment a celebration galore at the State Secretariat with colourful and musical ambience rented the atmosphere 


In August, 2019, Chief Oni was appointed by His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, as a Permanent Secretary and posted to the Governor’s Office as Permanent Secretary (Cabinet & Special Services) where she served until her recent appointment as the Head of Service, Oyo State.

New Dawn as Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter Supports Delivery of Women’s football Development Initiatives, WFDI Project

Recording high level of compliance from coaches across 33 local government of the state as Proponent of Women’s football Development Initiatives projects WFDI in the state.
