U17 Football Championship : Shooting Stars Sports Club Academy Emerges Champions

Shooting Stars Sports Club Academy of Ibadan have emerged champions of the 2023 tournament defeating CC Rehoboth Football Academy 3-1 at the University College Hospital Football ,UCH Pitch ,Ibadan on Friday 


The entertaining finals which was witnessed by movers and shakers in the state, the Ibadan Soccer Lords Academy showed grit right from the word go against the Church outfit and mesmerized from the flanks. The winger finally found the back of the net in the 20 minutes of the highly explosive encounter.


During the 8- Invitational Tournament, 3SC topped the group while CC Rehoboth Football Academy showed Class as they came close and emerged finalist 

The Rehoboth lads started the final on the front foot and deservedly caused a lot of incursions only for their efforts to be thwarted by defensive apparatus of the Oluyole Warriors Academy. 



At the hour mark, Adeyemo Ayodeji's lad double the lead after the half time ender 1-0 in favour of 5 time League Champions. The intensity became so high as the Rehoboth Teens had other plans and fought really hard in the second half. Those forwards drove through Shooting Stars defense before winning a penalty and converted which made the result stood at 2-1 at 68'


Shocked by the goal, the Ibadan teenagers quickly gathered themselves for more grit and get themselves back into the game but the Church outfit stood strong to repel their vociferous attacks.

With just 10 minutes left on the clock, Shooting Stars won a penalty and got it converted . Then, 3SC held on for 3-1 win to claim the first ever Under 17  Championship organized by Shooting Stars Sports Club


Meanwhile, Shooting Stars Ibrahim emerged as the MVP.

The Coordinator of the Shooting Stars Sports Academy, appreciated dignitaries and football fans who turn out in large numbers to grace the epic finals
