Anambra State Football Association Chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi, has praised the effort of Anambra state Governor, Charles Soludo, for his interest in helping to rescucitate sports development in the state.

Iloenyosi who made this known on Saturday in a chat with the media thanked Soludo for giving sports infrastructures across the state a special  place of reckoning through a proper maintenance culture, using the Awka Township Stadium as a case study.

"Today, you can see how the governor has made sure no sports infrastructure in the state, especially the Awka Stadium is facing any form of dilapidation unlike what used to be obtained in the past. That shows leadership by example".

"I applaud the state government's plan to continue uplifting the standard of the facilities at the stadium for the good of Anambra people".

While assessing the level of success sports has attained under the administration of Gov. Soludo, Iloenyosi said, "the successes recorded in the area of sports development in the state so far is attributed to the support the governor has given to the sector to thrive. This has shown that the "Soludo Solution" is alive and kicking".

Speaking on the state government's plan to acquire a football team, Iloenyosi disclosed that the move is strategic and the best to happen to the state after years of  non existence of a team bankrolled by the government.

"The plan by the state government to own a football team is a great idea that is receiving accolades from all and sundry".

"We are very happy that it is coming at this time when Anambrarians are begining to show a high degree of interest in football development. This is one way that the citizens of the state are reciprocating the effort of the present administration", hinted Iloenyosi.
