Deji Ayeni Reveals his Toughest Opponent in NPFL...Promises To Make Super 6 Cut In Second Stanza

The Coach of Akwa United Football Club ,Deji Ayeni has revealed his dreaded opponent in the just concluded first stanza of Group A of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The former Sunshine Stars gaffer, in his exclusive interview with Varsportsnow shortly after playing a 2-2 draw against Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan on Sunday in one of the Match Day 9 fixtures of Nigeria Premier Football League held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan said Remo Stars remains his difficult opponent in the just concluded stanza
The former NPFL Champions handler, in his words said: "Remo Stars is one of the difficult teams I have met this season. They are very young ,energetic and ambitious. Shooting Stars is also a good team as they did very well in the preseason but they could not translate it to league proper. Something must have happened somewhere
Responding on his ambition for the club ahead of the second stanza, the former Ekiti United Head Coach reiterates that all hope is not lost for the Uyo based outfit to make it to the Super 6. " All hope is not lost about my team to land in the continent next season as I strongly believe that Akwa United will do a lot in the three weeks break to make it to the continent next season".
He noted that they planned to get three maximum points in Ibadan but a point is not bad for the Promise Keepers to keep the hope of Super 6 ticket alive
It would be recalled that Ayeni replaced a title-winning coach Kennedy Boboye in the Promise Keeper’s dugout after his resignation in February ,2022 and won the Best Coach of the Month of April last year.
