It was a novelty match designed to thrill fans and spectators who came to felicitate and rejoice with the immediate past First Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and Chairman, Lagos State Football Association, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi on the occasion of his 60th birthday celebrations on Friday as Remo Stars pip Shooting Stars 1-0 on controversial penalty at Mobolaji Johnson Arena  Onikan Stadium. 


The Southwest derby which was was organised to commemorate Lagos State Football Association saw the two Nigeria Professional Football League sides showing mettles ahead of the new season billed to kick off 8th of January, 2023 only for the official to water down the fun as spectators described the penalty that seperated the two teams as most very dubious 

Remo Stars forward, Edidiong Ezekiel did not put his foot wrong as he sent Shooting Stars goalie to a wrong direction benefitting from the most criticised member of Nigerian referees ,Lagos State Council(name withheld for now and will be revealed in the course of the league if he continues in such shenanigans). It's time I start monitoring and reporting these referees on their activities in order to return sanity into Nigerian league next season 

On the scholarships and awards programmes  designed by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation, (SACF),BSA gave 60 indigent kids educational scholarships which to be sponsored by Lagos State Football Association helmsman. 

The stakeholders who graced the occasion yesterday showered encomiums on the grassroots Football developer and women football proponent calling him a man of good heart by Ogun State FA Boss, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi. Some of the dignitaries who graced the occasion were: the wife of the celebrant, Architect Jumoke Akinwunmi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Olufemi Gbajabiamila,FIFA Council Member, Amaju Melvin Pinnick, NFF Board Members :Aisha Falode & Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, Ekiti FA Boss,  Bayo Olanlege,Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) President, Alhaji Tade Azeez, Board Member, Nigeria Football Federation, and Ogun State FA Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, Oyo State FA Chairman, Oba James Odeniran, Kwara State FA Chairman, Mallam Idris Musa, Chairman of Adamawa FA, Waziri Aba Gawe who doubles as the Pro-Chancellor of Unilag , Prince Dr. Lanre Tejuoso Sports Consultant and Former LSSC Chairman, Dr. Kweku Tandoh, Chairman Shooting Stars Sports Club, Honourable Olaniyan David Akoro, Chairman TopPro Management, Lagos State, Mr Ayodele Thomas, National President, Football Fans Club of Nigeria, FFCN, Ambassador Oluwakemi Ogunfuwa, Ace Sports Journalist, Godwin Enakhena, Ayinor & City FC, Abuja President, Chidi Emmanuel Okonkwo.
